Commit to Our Planet

It's the only planet we have, we have to make it last.
What began as a simple question about where trash goes has grown into a youth led environmental initiative that keeps usable materials in circulation instead of landfills. Through collection drives, workshops, and community partnerships, Zach’s Planet has helped redirect thousands of items toward schools, shelters, and families while protecting the planet.

Our Mission Matters
Zach's Planet is a youth-led nonprofit focused on environmental advocacy by transforming waste into valuable resources. Through innovative collection drives and community workshops, we foster a culture of sustainability to protect our planet. What began as a 7-year old's simple question about what happens to the trash, it has grown into a 10 year movement to support the planet and it's people.

Our Initiatives
Books
With a commitment to education, we have donated over 300,000 new and used books, promoting literacy while reducing landfill waste and nurturing future generations.
Stuffed Animals
We have upcycled 6,000 stuffed animals, transforming them into toys for pets in animal shelters, turning potential waste into something cherished, showing that creativity can lead to effective environmental solutions.
Tree Preservation
By finding new life in old books and promoting reuse we have saved an estimated 7,000 trees, our efforts not only reduce deforestation but contribute to healthier ecosystems and a sustainable future.
Community Engagement
Our community partnerships and engaging workshops encourage hands-on learning, empowering individuals to take action in their local environments and providing more than 6000 hours of community service to youth.
Waste Diversion
Successfully diverting 125,000 pounds of waste from landfills demonstrates the power of collective action and the impact of youth-led initiatives.
Sustainability Drives
Our collection drives promote environmental stewardship, inspiring participants to adopt more sustainable practices in their daily lives helping more than 65,000 students and showing kids they can make a difference simply by sharing.
